Audits & compliance

A factory two big-box retailers have already audited

Walmart and Costco both run factory audits before they place orders. Ours passed, and we have supplied both for years. This page lays out what that covers — and, just as important, what it doesn't.

Plenty of factories say they "supply Walmart." Fewer can say their own plant has been through Walmart's and Costco's factory audits and kept the account. We can. The audits behind those relationships look at the same things your sourcing team checks, which is why starting from an already-audited factory saves a programme weeks — and saves you from finding a compliance problem after the samples are approved and the tooling is cut.

Here is the honest scope. A retailer's factory audit is about the plant and how it runs: labour, safety, capability and quality systems. It is not a product certificate. So below we separate the factory audit (passed) from product testing (built to standard, tested per order). We would rather you know the difference than assume an audit covers everything.

What an audit covers

The four areas, plainly

Social compliance

Working hours, wages, age verification, health and safety, and dormitory/canteen conditions — the areas a big-box social audit walks through. Records are kept the way an auditor expects to see them.

Factory capability

That the plant on the audit is the plant that makes the goods — own production lines, own QC, not a trading-company address. Walmart and Costco both audited this factory directly.

Quality systems

Incoming-material checks, inline inspection and a final QC gate before packing. We can run to an AQL you specify and share the report.

Product testing

Separate from the factory audit: BIFMA X5.1 and EN 1335 / EN 12520 bench tests, with third-party SGS or TÜV reports arranged per programme when your retailer requires a stamped report.

Built and tested to standard

What we claim — and what we don't

We build office and contract seating to BIFMA X5.1 and to EN 1335 / EN 12520 as the model requires. We do not claim held certificates we cannot show you. When your programme needs a stamped third-party report, we arrange testing through SGS or TÜV and quote the test fee before you commit.
